Round table: Audience development challenges

On Tuesday, 26.11.2019, in the Multimedia Hall of the Rector's Palace, from 1 pm, a round table was organized on the topic of the Challenges of audience development. Audience development is aimed at creating long-term processes that will raise the level of active participation in culture and art, make them more accessible by recognizing the diversity of audience needs, its social and economic experiences and the age of potential users. 

In the eternal mission of popularizing world and domestic independent film production, improving film critical thinking and activating audiences while fighting the global trend of asociality, online platforms for watching movies and "fast food" blockbusters, independent cinemas must systematically consider and plan ways to attract audiences. 

Audience development is aimed at creating long-term processes that will raise the level of active participation in culture and art, make them more accessible by recognizing the diversity of audience needs, its social and economic experiences and the age of potential users. 

Eminent stakeholders of the Croatian film industry gathered at the round table: • Chris Marcich, director of the Croatian Audiovisual Center • Alen Munitić, director of Kino Mreža • Slobodanka Mišković, director of the Rijeka's Art Kino Croatia • Igor Rakonić, director of the Vukovar Film Festival • Vlado Ercegović, program manager of the Zlatna Vrata in Split • Katarina Crnčić, program manager for children and youth of the Zagreb Film Festival 

On behalf of the organizers, Mr. Andrej Fric, director of Kino Zona, Head of the Department of Culture and Sports of the City of Zadar, Ms. Dina Bušić and director of the Zadar Concert Office, Mrs. Melita Ivković addressed the audience. Conversation was moderated by doc. dr. sc. Mario Županović, artistic director of Kino Zona.
