Director Victor Kossakoysky delivers an epic, intimate and poetic meditation on architecture and how the design and construction of buildings from the distant past reveal our destruction, but also offer hope for survival and a way forward.

Focusing on a landscape project by Italian architect Michele de Lucci, Kossakoysky uses the circle as a symbol to reflect on the rise and fall of civilizations, capturing stunning scenes from the temple ruins at Baalbek in Lebanon dating back to 60 BC to the recent devastation of cities in Turkey following a 7.8 magnitude earthquake in early 2023. Stones and rocks connect different societies – from ghostly monoliths set in the ground to tragic piles of concrete rubble waiting to be removed and reused. Through the director's inquisitive lens, the greatness and craziness of humanity and its precarious relationship with nature raises an extremely important question: how do we build and how can we do it together, before it's too late?...
