Elsa is a marketing executive whose mother passes away during the long Christmas holidays. In an attempt to escape reality, she throws herself into work, unconsciously denying herself the time and space to grieve. It is only after suffering an emotional breakdown that she decides to leave the city and take a short trip to Lanzarote with her friend, Patricia. Their journey becomes intertwined with that of a screenwriter and film director as they explore the timeless — and at times painful — connection between life and art.
The film explores the relationship between reality and fiction, and between inspiration and lived experience. It opens up a debate about the boundaries of autofiction. It premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in the Official Competition.
