Ahmet is a fifteen-year-old boy who lives with his father and brother in a small shepherding village in Macedonia. His love of music provides an escape from his exhausting and monotonous duties as a shepherd, but he must hide this passion from his strict father. With his brother Naim's help, Ahmet decides to pursue his musical ambitions in the hope of impressing Aya, a girl he likes who is already "promised" to someone else. His chance comes at a forest dance festival organised in their village, an event that transforms their rural landscape into a spectacle of rhythm, colour and movement.
Unkovski's feature debut won the Audience Award and the Special Jury Award for Creative Vision at Sundance. The film's music, composed by the renowned Croatian duo Alen and Nenad Sinkauz, also received special praise.
