Francophonie Month: Carved by the Wind
Sophia, a spirited young photographer from Tangier, has her world upended when she learns a shocking truth: her French mother, believed deceased, is alive and residing in France. Driven by a yearning for identity, Sophia embarks on a perilous journey to the heart of Europe, determined to unravel the family secrets that have been shrouded in darkness.
With its atmospheric portrayals of Tangier and France, the film is as much a journey through time as it is through space.
The film achieved significant success at African and Arab film festivals:
- Festival Africain Écrans Noirs (Cameroon, 2025): Winner of the Grand Prix
- Festival du Cinéma Africain de Khouribga (Morocco, 2025): Winner of the Jury Prize;
