Francophonie Month: Small Country - An African Childhood

In the 1990s, a boy lived in Burundi with his father, who was a French entrepreneur; his mother, who was from Rwanda; and his younger sister. He spent his time playing with friends until a civil war broke out, bringing an end to his carefree childhood.

The film is an adaptation of Gaël Faye's eponymous novel, which was translated into Croatian by students at the University of Zadar.
