Unaware of the past and exhausted by the present - they are our future.

The original trio of distinguished Italian directors Pietro Marcello, Francesco Munzi and Alice Rohrwacher undertake a collective research - a journey along the Apennine peninsula where they meet girls and boys aged 15 to 20 and ask about their visions of the future through a series of interviews.

The filmmakers dissect the acute pains of Italian society and talk openly with teenagers about their expectations, longings, fears and dreams and the obstacles they have to overcome in order to achieve them. With today's political and socioeconomic divisions, over-reliance on technology and the global climate crisis, the film implies the question: is there even a future for us? However, the intelligence, expressiveness and foresight of these teenagers awakens hope for a possible better tomorrow.
