I Swear

I Swear

UK 120 min.

Based on the remarkable true story of John Davidson, this witty, honest and deeply powerful film chronicles his journey from being a misunderstood teenager in 1980s Britain to becoming an advocate for understanding and acceptance of Tourette syndrome in the present day. After being diagnosed at the age of 15, he struggled through his teenage years and early adulthood, persevering despite numerous obstacles and finding inspiration in the kindness of others. Ultimately, he discovered his true purpose in life.

The dark comedy Everything Off the List delivers an outstanding acting performance alongside a skilfully told story. It does not gloss over the challenges of the diagnosis, while offering an inspiring story of resilience.

The film, which is also a biographical drama directed by Kirk Jones, earned Robert Aramayo two BAFTA Awards: Best Leading Actor and Rising Star (voted by the audience). Aramayo was also named Best Actor at the British Independent Film Awards.
