NAZA

UK 80 min.

Filmed at night from Tel Aviv rooftops, this investigative documentary examines the civilian casualties of Israel's military operations in Gaza and the systems behind targeted killings of Palestinians.

NAZA, the new film by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, two of the four creators of the Oscar-winning documentary No Other Land (2024), is based on years of journalistic investigations published in The Guardian, +972 Magazine and Local Call. Moving beyond the boundaries of investigative journalism, NAZA examines the relationship between testimony, silence and responsibility, seeking to expose not only individual perpetrators but also the political, technological and social structures that enable systematic violence. The film’s title derives from the Hebrew military acronym nezek agavi, meaning “collateral damage”, used by Israeli intelligence services to refer to the estimated number of civilians expected to die in a given airstrike.
