Zorg is a handyman who carries out various repairs in a tourist resort with wooden bungalows on the French coast. He leads a calm and quiet life, writing a novel in his spare time. He meets the sensual and passionate Betty and the two fall deeply in love with each other.

Betty is wild and unpredictable, she quarrels with Zorg's employer, so she and Zorg leave, and find a new job in the Italian restaurant of Betty's friend's boyfriend.
