Based on Bronja Žakelj's autobiographical bestseller of the same name, the film tells the story of young Bronja's life in Ljubljana during the 1980s. Her carefree childhood is suddenly cut short by her mother's illness, and she later faces profound hardships once more, overcoming them with remarkable optimism.

The film has been a major box-office success in Slovenia, having attracted more than 100,000 viewers to date.
