For the end of this year's program, the SF classic "Alien" arrives in the Kino Zona

11.12.2019.

We are pleased to point out that this Friday the Zadar audience will have a unique opportunity to watch the director's version of the film, which has never been shown in our city on the big screen. So, on Friday the 13th (yes, you read that right) at 8 pm in the concert hall of the Rector's Palace, a real genre treat awaits you that you should not miss. With the retrospective of the cult film Alien, we conclude the extremely successful first year of the Kino Zona and retire to a short break and plan new surprises in the even more meaningful Kino Zona in 2020.

Many of you are well acquainted with this film and its more or less successful sequels, but we will remind the forgetful ones and introduce the uninitiated with a few short lines about the plot itself.

The plot of the film follows the seven-member crew of the cargo spacecraft Nostromo, awakened from hibernation by a ship's computer that received certain signals from an unknown planet. Landing in a capsule on this strange planet, part of the crew finds the remains of an ancient alien spacecraft, and soon a multitude of strangely shaped eggs. When one of the crew members is attacked by an unknown parasitic creature, the rest of the crew is forced to take him with them to Nostromo completely unaware that they will soon get an ‘eighth passenger’.

With a perfectly designed and directed blend of claustrophobic terror and science fiction, "Alien" won over critics and audiences thanks to the ingenious biomechanical creations of the Swiss artist H.R. Giger, that is, a powerful heroine in the character of Officer Ripley played by the unique Sigourney Weaver.
