Rich February in the Kino Zona!

Rich February in the Kino Zona!

02.02.2020.

Endless January is behind us, but for film lovers and the organization of Kino Zona it was a month to remember. The concert hall of the Rector's Palace was too small for the screenings of "Parasites" (two!) "," Portrait of a Lady on Fire "," Honeyland" , "Srbenka" and" Diego Maradona " at the very end of the month. The Zadar audience has once again proved how much they love and appreciate the author's film and now this beautiful story should be continued. The team from the Kino Zona made sure that this month was filled with a quality program and guest appearances, and in the rest of the text you can read what awaits us.

On Friday, February 07, on the eve of the Oscars, the acclaimed and multi-award-winning drama "Pain and Glory" by the great Pedro Almodóvar arrives at the Kino Zona. In addition to the expected nomination for the Oscar in the category of best foreign film, the nomination in the category of best actor was also deserved by the fantastic Antonio Banderas, who has already won many prestigious awards for the same role, such as the one in Cannes.

Only a week later or on February 14 another Oscar nominee (also in the category of best foreign film) and winner of last year's edition of the Cannes Film Festival is coming to us, and it is an extraordinary French thriller crime drama "Les Miserables''.

Three days later, Dina Pokrajac, the director of the Subversive Film Festival, is coming as a guest to take part in a panel discussion on the topic of Subversive in the context of the politicization of art. After the conversation, there will be a screening of the acclaimed drama "Ray and Liz".

Friday, February 21, is reserved for the latest film by the legendary director Roman Polanski "Officer and Spy". It should be noted that this historical thriller drama won as many as 4 awards at the Venice Film Festival last year.

Only three days later, on Monday, February 24, Kino Zona will be visited by two local miracle workers who are responsible for the phenomenal domestic short SF "Slice of Life". Along with the screening of this incredible short film, a documentary about its shooting will be shown, and will be accompanied by a conversation with its authors, Luka Hrgović and Dino Julius.

The very end of February is reserved for another festival favorite, the remarkable Russian war drama "Beanpole" directed by Kantemir Balagov. The film has also garnered numerous accolades so far, including two awards at last year's Cannes.

Kino Zona once again have an extremely rich film month in which everyone will surely find something to their liking! We remind you once again that tickets at the price of 20 kuna can be purchased every working day from 8 am to 4 pm in the office of the Alliance of Independent Culture Centre (Zrinsko Frankopanska 3) or at the screening location before the screening. The on-site box office opens at 7:15 pm. See you in the Kino Zona!
